Ogunbote Seals  2-Year Contract Extension With 3SC

Technical Adviser of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, Gbenga Ogunbote, has officially extended his stay with the Oluyole Warriors.

After weeks of discussion with the management of the club, the Oracle, as the widely traveled tactician’ is fondly called,  agreed to renew his contract with the club, in a deal that will see him staying with the club for the next two years.

Speaking after signing the contract extension papers, the former Rangers International, Lobi Stars, Sunshine Stars, defunct Sharks FC of Port Harcourt and Remo Stars’ sweat merchant, expressed joy over the development.

“I am thrilled to announce that I have signed  a 2-year contract extension as the head coach of Shooting Stars.

“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue leading this talented group of athletes and I am excited about the future we will build together,” said the soft spoken gaffer.

He expressed appreciation to the management of the club, and the fans, expressing the belief that the team will achieve in the coming season.

“I say a big thank you to the organization and fans for their support,  and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve in the coming years. UP SHOOTING,” stated coach Ogunbote

Value Jet Pre Season Tourney: Shooting Stars Battle Al-Merrikh, Beyond Limit, Ikorodu City

Defending Champions, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan have been drawn against Sudanese top side, Al-Merrikh of Sudan, as they aim for a successful  defence of the trophy.

At the impressive draw ceremony held at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, the Ibadan soccer lords were lumped in Grouo A, alongside the Sudanese side and the duo of Beyond Limit and Ikorodu City.

It is going to be a big test for the Oluyole Warriors as they will be facing a tough one against the Sudanese giants who are the first foreign side to compete in the tourney.

It is also gping to be a rematch between the Ibadan soccer lords and Beyond Limits, who have just been promoted to the Nigerian topflight

Both sides battled to a 1-1 draw at the group stage, before Shooting Stars secured a 2-0 win over the young lads in the final to cart home the trophy.

It is going to be the first meeting between Shooting Stars and Ikorodu City who got promoted to the NPFL, alongside Beyond Limit.

Group B will see Remo Stars face Kwara United, Rivers United and Ijebu United

The tournament will kick off tomorrow with two matches holding in each day at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne.

Intensify Build up Ahead New Season

After a week intensive training in Ijebu-Ode, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, returned to base last weekend, as the team continued its build up to the 2024/25 season of the NPFL.

The Ibadan soccer lords, resumed training last Tuesday at the Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu-Ode, after resumption from break.

With a number of the retained players, joined by couple of newly recruited legs, the team  engaged in serious training sessions under the watchful eyes of the Gbenga Ogunbote led technical crew.

The team left Ijebu-Ode on Saturday and resumed training at the University of Ibadan on Monday.

Meanwhile, the Oluyole Warriors will join seven other clubs to battle for this year’s Valuejet Pre season Tournament, billed to start on Wednesday, July 24 at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne.

Draws for the tournament will hold on Tuesday afternoon  in Ikenne.

Shooting Stars are the holders of the title having defeated Beyond Limit of Ikenne 2-0 in the grand finale decided at the Remo Stars Stadium.

3SC Top 4 Finish Excites Gov Makinde, Hopeful of Continental Slot Next Season

The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde,  has expressed happiness over the performance of Shooting Stars Sports Club ((3SC) of Ibadan, in the just concluded NPFL 2023/24 season.

The sport loving Governor, was physically present at the Lekan Salami Stadium last Sunday, to cheer the team to victory over Sporting Lagos in the final game of the season.

The Governor, who watched as his darling team pipped the Lagos based team 1-0,  assured that all steps would be taken to ensure the team gets a continental slot next season.

“The team has made considerable progress in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), finishing in the fourth place compared to last season.

“As it is, there is room for the team to accomplish even more and we will go back to the drawing board to work  towards our goal of qualifying for continental Championship next season”, stated the Oyo State helmsman.

The Governor, who arrived the match venue before kickoff, performed the ceremonial handshake with the two teams and the match officials and also presented the Shooting Stars’ Player of the Season Award to Adelowo Gbolagade, after the encounter.

It was all cheers for Governor Makinde while stepping out of the arena, as supporters and fans as well as sports lovers hailed him for his commitment to the Oluyole Warriors in the just concluded season.
